About Paul
In 2001, I was working for a large Telecommunications company in Toronto as a Sales and Marketing Executive, but feeling unsatisfied with a desire to do something more creative. After receiving the well-rehearsed speech, "the company is moving in a different direction" (the department folded a few months later), I was free to investigate new career options that tapped into my passions.
My neighbour had just hired a personal chef and I got thinking that this was a great idea. By early 2002, I started todaysmenu personal chef services with the full support of my wife, Lisa. I had absolutely no experience in the food business, but knew this was exactly what I wanted to do.
Sure enough, I've had a great time cooking for my clients and their families. A couple of years later in 2004, I decided to offer a delivery service because the logistics of going from house-to-house everyday were getting too complicated. I worried at first that the personalized service might be in jeopardy because we were not in peoples' homes cooking. Turns out that it worked a lot better for my clients and their families to have the meals
delivered, and it also allowed me to grow the business.
I live in the Toronto Beaches Area with my wife and my two children,
and continue to manage the business, as well as cook privately.
